One of the benefits of running your own business, is that you can organise events that are not only fun, but also raise money for worthwhile causes.

The aim of Waddle is to raise awareness of the daily challenges children with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus face and to fund-raise for the life changing work of the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, and the support services provided by the Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephallus (ASBAH). Of course a coffee morning has to include some yummy food – including some white chocolate peanut blondies and chocolate cupcakes by me, and my Mum’s shortbread, chocolate truffles and florentines.

There was jewellery

In the past I have displayed the jewellery in several rooms, but as everyone congregates in the kitchen anyway, I just kept it all in one place.

There were friends, old and new, including some pre-schoolers who enjoyed juice, biscuits and wooden train sets!

The result – £112 raised for The Waddle Charity.

Thanks to all who came, supported the event, donated, purchased, and helped with the tea/coffee and doing the dishes!
